About Us

Our Company was registered in 1988 and is licensed annually by the Tourist Agents licensing Authority of the Ministry of Tourism, Natural Resources and Environment. The firm is a private company jointly owned, operated and managed by an American and Onesmo Lashiko, a Tanzanian Maasai; both dedicated to hosting visitors from all over the world.

Having worked as a Wildlife Manager and Environmental Education Secretary and Resource Interpretation Specialist in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism for ten years, Onesmo has extensive knowledge and experience concerning the wilderness, animals, local culture and international politics. He trained at the college of Africa Wildlife Management Mweka, in Tanzania and at the WWF/IUCN, the International Centre for Conservation Education in Cheltenham, U.K. Today, he is one of the most reputable Environmental Educational Specialist and Resource Interpreters in the country.
Considerable development has taken place within the company in terms of material resources, PR services, visitors’ interpretation programs and infrastructure development. Currently, we own a fleet of five minibuses each with seven window seats, and 4 four-wheel drives (4wd) each with five window seats. The minibuses are replaced every four years and land cruisers every 6 years. Both types of vehicles are specially modified for safari services and have pop-up roofs to ensure unobscured viewing and photography. All our vehicles are in optimum condition as our maintenance service crew performs a thirty-point checklist before and after each safari. They are driven by uniformed, non-smoking English speaking drivers who also serve as guide, always courteous caring and knowledgeable on the situation and environment.

Profits acquired are channeled into the ABSOLUTE HERITAGE TRUST. This conservation trust fund is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the culture and environment by eradicating poverty amongst the Maasai. Its objectives are to provide sanitary water, building schools, health and veterinary facilities in the area. All this are ways of uplifting the quality of life of these people so determined to preserve their long-established way of life.

We organize workshops and seminars in order to educate and create awareness among the Maasai on HIV/AIDS, Female genital mutilation and the drawbacks of early marriages. Our first orphanage for HIV/AIDS victims is about to be completed. We also disseminate information on conserving the environment. We believe that not only will the people’s hygiene, general health and standard of living improve but a spirit of appreciation and commitment to conserving the land will be imbedded within the Maasai youth. By booking a Safari with us,you will have contributed to this cause and making ABSOLUTE HERITAGE SAFARIS the company of the PEOPLE for the benefit of the PEOPLE.
