ABOUT TANZANIA

Tanzania, East Africa’s largest country, consists of the mainland plus two major islands in the Indian Ocean; Zanzibar and Pemba. Tanzania is bordered by eight countries: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia. Malawi, Mozambique and Zaire.

Agriculture provides the principal source of income accounting for over half of the GDP. Major export crops include coffee, cotton, wheat, tobacco, cloves, cashew nuts and sisal. Diamonds are the most important non-agricultural exports and reserves of commercially viable deposits of gold, copper and various types of gemstones including rubies and the singular Tanzanite are mined in this vast land.

Tanzania has the potential to become one of the world’s greatest tourist destinations within Africa; 25% of its land is protected area, there are 13 National Parks, 15 Game Reserves, and 63 Game controlled areas. These harbor a diversity of mammalian and bird species some of which are endangered in other parts of the world and indigenous to Tanzania.

The environment has remained largely unchanged as the variety of flora and fauna has been at par with the life style of the people for thousands of years. The famed Africa of your dreams still exists…..this secret can only be revealed by the very few.
